When it is hot clean the dipstick off VERY well and then check it again. You should be at least able to see the "wet line". Use a flashlight if you need to see the difference between the dry and wet dipstick.

I swab the tube out 1st , then insert the cleaned off dip stick . I have fought this problem until I swabbed out the tube . The tube has fluid splashed up in it & is impossible to read correctly .

A length of welding rod ,super glue a cotton swab on it. DO NOT ALLOW THE SWAB TO GO FARTHER THEN THE DIP TUBE LENGTH! yOU DON,T WANT TO DROP THIS tAMPEX plug into the tranny. I bend a U into the tranny end & crimp it over the swab . A coat hanger will work.
