Wink Transmission issues

I have a 1999 Ford F-150 4x4. Truck has 200,000 miles. Engine has 1,000 miles. 5.4l 4speed auto, K&N FIPK, Hypertek program, Flowmaster split exhaust. Two issues. First, was wife(EX) truck and she gave it to me now and between 40 and 50mph the truck seems real hestitant and then goes away over or under those speeds. Have one DTC on the truck (P0005) can't find too much info on that one other than what it is. The transmission has never had the fluid changed!!! If I change it now, what are my chances of the transmission continuing to work? Don't want to risk problems with the seals etc. My other question is I'm looking at a throttle body spacer, but want one that increases low end torque. Thanks

As for your trans, your are having torque converter problems and a fluid flush won't hurt and might even correct it.

I used to have a chevy product years ago and had about 100000 miles on the transmission before I had the fluid changed and the transmission went to garbage shortly after. Just worried that this might happen to this transmission and cant afford that!
