down the outside of the frame you seen them ?
I am interested, tell me and the guys about yours. I am sure lots like me would
like to do one. But won't because there not sure how much trouble it is. Or what your get into. Thanks A Lot For any information, hints, ideas or company names that have products. For this swap.
I saw one guy at the drags last year with a 500 cid caddy in his lil Ranger. It was not hookin up. If he ever did get it to hookup,I bet it would be fast. Plenty of torque.
What year is your ranger? I think the older (1980's) rangers have motor mount kits, but I'm not sure. Almost everything would have to be custom fabbed. Transmission crossmember, headers (huggers might work), clutch linkage, and you will have to modify the oil pan. It would be a cool project, though.
There's some good stuff. Adaptors will be needed if it's a 4WD. If it's a four banger, you'll definetly need a new axle. The tranny crossmember will have to be moved. New steering made (usable Crown Vic parts however). Oil filter relocated. A/C lost. Heater removed or box heavily notched.
No, your axles will be fine unless you wanted to get crazy with the hp and then do a ford 9" in the rear and a dana 44 in the front. The rear 8.8 is a pretty sturdy axle, alot of jeep guy's use them to upgrade thier jeeps.
