Well right now mine is jacked up due to bad linkage but it used to be nice, i have another one to put in. any suggestions for an inexpensive top loader because a 5 speed sounds nice =]
i've been told to get one out of like a 80's mustang. The only things is you would have to get an adapter. I would probably get it rebuilt to handle the torque our FE's put on a tranny. I'm sure someone with a little more knowledge will chime in and give us some more info.
I hope so, me and my dad plan on doing a swap in the summer, and also do you know how much you can bore the 352 block =]. and i also need to find a decent powersteering conversion for my truck. any ideas?
I couldn't give you the exact measurements of hand but there is quite a bit of room to go bigger. My 67 has factory p/s. You might be able to get the parts of ff of a truck that has it or get an after market system. LMC, NPD, and Blue Oval Truck Parts are good places to look.
ha true but i had to get used to the fact that i acctually have to press the break in to stop, but its not bad i just know not to be right up on other cars, even though my truck will destroy them =] to much hassle. but yea i just found a tutorial on the whole powerstearing thing so its all good, i found a power breaks one also, all on another site lol.
well fellas believe me i know what yall are going through with your trucks and being in high school. im a senior as well. class of 007 baby. but i lucked out for the past 2.5 years ive been working in engine/machine shops so parts come cheap. that is how i have been able to build the 428 for mine. it is currently not running though i wiped the cam in it the first day i put the engine in it. mine happens to be a 69 f250 4x4 highboy. and man i love this truck so much it has put me through hell as i have done to it and its still strong after 38 years of god knows what. i have been through 5 vehicles since i got my license all bought with my own money. i have been working legally since i was 15. but it builds character rather than having things handed to you. i love stomping kids new vehicles in the dust with what i have bought. i have been wrenching in these old ford all my life so if yall have any questions just shoot. and on the 352 over bore i would not go any more than 060 over with out getting it sonic checked. if i was you i would find a 428 crank and stoke the beast to a 410 or so. that is what i was going to with my 390 bot i found a mirror 105 block and had it sonic checked and took a standard 428 bore so now i have a rompin stompin 428. aluminum holley street dominator intake and 750 cfm holley 4160. medium riser heads off an early 352. dynamax headers. and various other goodies.
Dustin
