Gary, Are you certain that a forward-backward movement won't produce holes to use on the chassis? Your's is an issue that I don't recall coming up often.
after looking at a 77 frame and moving the mounts to that location on my 66 frame, three holes line up. so i can just drill one hole and it should work.thanks for all the input. i'll let you know if it works.
If I recall; when I did this swap acouple years ago; Both top holes line up; and the front lower hole on both the drivers & passengers side line up with the originial frame cross member holes; and I only had to drill the one in the back; which is slighlty lower than the bottom front hole when using 302 perches.
Hey Mitch, Thats right the mounts are the same from 240/6cl to 352 v8 I have both trucks engine models and they look the same. The 300 part I dont know about. Mitch did your 65 come two tone from factory? sure looks sweet. and i know what the 302 mounts look like, Bought some just a few days ago for my 65.

Gary , What I ment to say is that the 240/6cl are the same as 352 motor brackets Sorry for the confusion Bill W
Noooo Not by the part numbers they aren't. 240/300 have at least 8 different sets of perches (1965/79), and not one is the same part number as a 352, 360 or 390.
Looks are deceiving...if the mounts were the same, they'd share the same part numbers...they do not.
240 and 300 I-6 perches are the same, as the block is the same.
