I have a problem... I was pulled over yesterday by a Jefferson County Sherriff for doing 124 mph in a 60 on corridor X. He came up to my window and hopped up on my nerf bar ( I already rolled my window down, had my license and insurance reaady ) and looked in my truck and while snickering said, " Boy, if you're truck wasn't as bad *** as it is, I'd arrest you and bury you underneath the jail. You know better than to go that fast, and just because you can doesn't mean you should. So, go about your own way when I leave... but don't let me catch you doin even 5 mph over in these parts again. Oh and by the way, I drive a F-250 too. " Such a bad problem isn't it? BTW, corridor X is a long straight (new) road with nothing on it just south of Birmingham.
I used to drive above the speed limit pretty much everywhere, I got a lot of tickets but I didn't think much of it until the Government told me I was one ticket away from loosing my licence. That was a real eye-opener.
I've slowed waaaay down and even though I still speed sometimes, it's nothing like it used to be.

Well I learned something today. My truck can maybe do 124+ mph? Dont know if my 5.4L will do the same top speed as your 6.8L. Only had it up to around 80mph because the cops are very thick around here...
I know I know... I came to this site to check out the tips and what other guys were doing. I could care less about my credibility as I have nothing to prove and nothing to lose on here. When I had my truck dynoed (337 rwHP) at SpeedSouth here in Birmingham, one of the guys that used to work there wrote a custom tune for my truck and we used a set of 235's (major cheating...) along with a couple of other things he used with his program.... he offered me to keep what he did for a couple $k or he could return it to stock after the run. He had to disable the governer and RPM limiter for the dyno run... hit 5900 rpms ( I know the 10 can rev higher... he said it was part of the program... ), thought the engine would blow up but it didn't and it hasn't yet. I didn't really want my engines life to be sacrificed ( he said it would probably last 20k miles before needing a complete top end rebuild with his program ) so we parted ways and I had a jacked up dyno chart and my governor was disabled. His radar was how I know how fast I was goin... the v-10 was absolutely screaming I know that... He was a young guy, like a discharged marine or something so I think that's part of why he was so cool and not a jerk. Anyways, I doubt I'll do that again.
I think your just lucky your tires didnt blow out going that fast. BFG AT/ko's were definatly good tires but I wouldnt have trusted them at that speed.
I doubt I'm awesome, but it was a fun ride... freaky, but fun. It was swaying in a really awkward fashion and I was scared to move the steering wheel AT ALL. It took me about 20 seconds to get up that fast.
i have learned my lesson from speeding, I almost lost my license too, one ticket away. I don't speed, I hardly drive my "fast car" instead I go slow over the rocks with my cherokee for fun instead of speeding. I have a supercharged lincoln sitting in my garage, putting 355/360 to the ground.
