Mt

I ran my truck out of fuel today . Now it won't start ,do i need to purge the fuel lines or is something else wrong?

you need to get the air out of the fuel lines. open the fuel bowl drain valve and cycle the key a couple of time for about 20 seconds at a time. this cycles the fuel pump and bleeds the air from the system.

what sean23johnson said. It may take you a while to get her going again, so you might want to jump the battery from another car so you don't run them down completely.
If that doesn't do it, you might of picked up some debris that was stirred up when you filled it.
Good practice if possible is to not run much below 1/4 tank.

For sure about the 1/4 tank suggestion... the needle falls like a rock after 1/4th. I have the 29 gallons tank, and have been able to put as much as 29.4 gallons in it when the needle was still almost half way between E and 1/4.

hum, ive put 31 gallons in my 29 gal. tank once, i really pushed the issue of EMPTY that day, but now i only let it run to half and fill it back up.
