Towing MPG
) Anyway, I got an average of 8.6 MPG this trip. I got 9.2 MPG on the way out (and part of the way back) and 7.9 MPG on the rest of the way home. There was a really bad headwind coming off the mountains, must have been 25 MPH or higher. I'm pulling a 9,600 lb fiver (weighed it at the CAT scale today in El Centro). Never did more than 60 MPH, CHP gets ticket happy at 62 MPH, saw lots of them today. Peak boost climbing the Cuyamaca Mountains on the way home was 38 lbs, right as you are leaving Imperial County into San Diego County going from 1,000 ft to 3,000 feet in 7 miles.Dash computer is off by 0.5 - 0.7 MPG. For the trip out it read 9.7 MPG and 8.6 MPG on the way home. I can't believe that it's that far off. Here I was bragging to my brother in his Chevy gasser, that I'm getting almost 10 MPG on the way out! I guess I don't have to tell.
