I have an 02 F250 with the V-10 motor. I am towing my boat(#10,000) from Fl to NY next month and wondered if anyone could advise of a way to temporarily add an extra gas tank for the trip. I figure I will get around 7-8 mpg while towing and with a single gas tank, it will put me at the pumps about every 2-3 hrs. Any Idaes?? My only idea was a "gas caddy" used for dock filling boats. Thanks in advance...
while not cheap, have you considered a transfer flow tank ? it's a direct replacement for OEM and offers a significant increase in capacity, both SWB and LWB .. and then you have the increase permanently, without losing any room in the bed.

I dont know if its a transfer flow but I saw that you can get a 55gal replacement tank thru "Aero Tanks" for about $800 (shipping included). They claim that it dosent replace the spare tire either. Monting one permanent, might not be a bad idea. Thanks for the suggestion.
I have a 2x2x2ft aluminum tank with 12 volt pump,I put it in on long trips and when I go boating out of state to fill my boat at the lake.by the way it holds a little over 50 gallons
Mr lookinahook 1,I recieved your e mail couldn't return it,my tank was a 100 bucks at a farm store called atwoods here in oklahoma, the pump was a 140 bucks,it pumps into the tank like a fuel station, turn on the 12 volt pump until it clicks off,I use it more to pump fuel in my boat at the ramp than for long trips,it is full right now I pick it up with a half ton chain hoist and set it in the truck.
