I have a 2004 Excursion with the 6.0L diesel. I changed the fuel filters and when I went to purge the air from the system I did not get any fuel. Ideas??
It sound as if the frame mounted fuel filter is not properly installed. If the filter is damaged during installation or if the filter housing is not fully seated into the fuel conditioning module fuel will not make it to the upper filter on the engine.
I would check to make sure that the filter housing is properly installed and fully seated. This might be someting as simple as an air leak caused by the housing not being tightened fully.
Got the fuel pump problem figured out now it is a bad pump, now you can go with just the pump for a little over 300.00 or replace the whole FCM for about 250.00 you also need to replace the wire harness going to the FCM
