Stalls when accelerating from a stop

Can anyone tell me where to look. The truck is a 99 f-250, stock, no mods. Just recently it started stalling only when I accelerate from a stop (usually at any busy intersection). Never stalls at speed. So far I have cleaned the ebpv sensor and tube, replaced the throttle pedal & replaced the C.P.S., but I have the same problem. I'm stumped.

Also can you tell me if the lever on the turbo (ebpv?) should move when it's started or after it's warmed up? When I've checked it recently it always seems to be in the same position.

Thanks

Mark

Have you checked for any fault codes.. ? Do you get SES light..? That lever you looking at.. is it on top and towards the back of the turbo?

Yes checked for codes....none(snap on reader) no ses light. The lever is conntcted to a rod that looks like it goes into a round (vacuum) actuator that has a red wire coming from it.

When you mash the gas it just sits there? Anything on the tach or is it just in idle? How long does it take before it responds? When you replced the CPS did you get an OEM CPS?

Here are the possibilities from the manual for stalling on acceleration
Engine oil level/quality
Electrical connections
Automatic transmission TCC
ATF level
Engine overheating

And one of the pinpoint test
If a PCM reset occurs, the following conditions will be present:
Engine will momentarily stumble.
PCM will go through a normal key on cycle.
Glow plug lamp and glow plugs will be turned on.
Accelerator pedal position validation will be attempted.
Pedal authority will not be allowed by the PCM until the accelerator pedal is released and the engine returns to idle.

Stalling on acceleration problem solved

In my 1999 F-250, Super duty diesel, I would stall occasionally, but only during acceleration from a stop and usually only when stopped on a hill or incline. It was NOT the CPS (cam position sensor). It was the fuel sensor right behind and under the fuel filter on the top of the engine. (It's right beneath the plastic cover on the top of the engine). The nut which holds the sensor in position was loose and then fell off altogether. When I would accelerate, the sensor would actually slide backward and kill the fuel supply. Last night it must have fell off completely because my truck would not start again. I found the nut laying on the top of the manifold. I put the nut back on with some locktite and it started right up! I hope this helps some. Good luck, John

That is the IPR, it regulates the high pressure oil system that fires the injectors. The "Tin Nut" should be torqued to 53 in/lbs. An improperly torqued or missing tin nut can cause - No Start, Hard Start, Stall, Rough Idle, Poor acceleration.

The Tin Nut holds the solenoid to the IPR valve if it is not held securely it cannot acuate the valve to increase/decrease oil pressure.
