Broken Starter Bolt

My starter on my 87 f150 5.0 went yesterday so today I decided to take my starter off before going to the parts store. Bottom bolt came out fine but the damn top bolt broke! I was surprised at this because I never had this happen before. Well I bought one of those extractor kits.... BIG mistake. The extractor broke in the bolt. Now I cant drill it anymore. I`ve tried vise grips but now the head is rounded. So does anyone know what I can do now? Please help.

You need to hit it with a torch and get it really hot and then try the vise grips....have you used any WD40? I've even heard if you tighten it a little, it might break it loose.....but I would say try the torch.

Home Depot, Lowes or any local hardware store should have one...for about $20...that used those 1lb tanks. Should do the trick.

Heat the area around the bolt. I usually heat the area then spray WD40 around the bolt.

Can you get a small pipe wrench on it?
