Help!! Gauge install question

Hi guys another Newbie here. I'm in the middle of hooking up gauages (P,B,Tranny) in my 04' 6.0. On the tranny pick up, I wrapped the threads w/ teflon tape. Does this interefere with some sort of grounding? I still have to hook up the boost and under dash stuff, so i haven't put any power to the gauges yet. Maybe I'm thinking too much. Thanks for any responses.

If you have a single wire sending unit, it needs to have electrical contact at the threads to ground. If you have a two wire sending unit it can/should be sealed with thread sealant.

Not sure how one deals with a leraking single wire sending unit.

Thanks for the fast response. It's single wire. I think I'll pull it out and fold the tape in half. So the front is still making contact and the back of the sensor is sealed. Thanks for the info.

i just did this install my self on my 2006...........i called autometer and asked them if teflon tape will interfere with the grounding of this unit, they said it would not interfere and they recommended using teflon tape as the threads will cut thru the tape when screwing it in and will still make a good ground as well as seal out leaks, i used teflon tape on mine, it works great no leaks.............

Yeah i would def use teflon tape to aviod any leaks. I used it on mine and have no issues with my trans gauge at all.
