truck sputters

my 1998 f150 4.2 liter 5 speed manual sputters when i accelerate in almost every gear , it dosn't do it all the time,i had the fuel injecters cleaned and thet help for a minute or two but it still acts like its not getting enough fuel or something because when i down shift and hammer it it seems to stop.

when's the last time you changed the fuel filter?
I try to change mine every 15k.
