05 expedition

Good morning,
Bought my wife a 05 Expedition EB (65,000 miles) a month ago and love it. Best veh. I could have bought her. Had about 6-8 inches of snow here in N.Y. and the wife loved how it handled.
As per my recent post we had an air bag problem but I fixed that this morning. So, now I'm looking into changing the plugs, filters etc.. Any preference as to which plugs to put in. I want to stay with oem but I see alot of posts on different #s for the heat rating. I see that alot of people a using tuners on these also to play with the parameters. J.L. has had some great results with the x2. With the price of gas going up again I'm looking to get as close to 20 mpg as possible. Any recomendations good/bad on tuners?

Thanks Dave

Congrats on your vehicle. I would strongly suggest sticking with motorcraft plugs. If your not looking into making modifications, i would get them from the dealer then you'll know you have the right ones. If you are wanting to modify something then i'm not sure if you need a different plug. For the mpg honestly i would just have your wife go easy on the accelerator. That will help alot. I notice an improvement in gas mileage when I drive the expy compared to when she drives it. Keep your tires with proper air pressure and rotate when required. Use synthetic blend or full synthetic motor oil which will also help.

Thanks for the info. I use Mobile 1 in all my vehicles. I guess I'll contact my local Ford dealer for the plug #.
