I've never been a big fan of body lifts, especially on a truck as big and heave as a super duty. That is just too much side load on a long bolt in my opinion. I would say to go with an all spring suspension lift. I personally have a Donahoe racing 4.5" lift and I love it. Donahoe makes a 6", 8", 10.5", and 12.5" lift for your truck. You could also look into trimming your fenders and using cut-out fender flares with a smaller lift in order to fit your tires.
i think a 9" is a little extreme for an everyday driver..a regear would be neccarsary for sure, pretty much with any lift, not sure if your driving this truck everyday or not..but ive always been a big fan of skyjackers kits..check out summitracing.com
Lift height is really a personal preference type of thing. Talk to DC special or one of the other guys from Truck Toyz Performance on this site. They will know a lot better than me about when you start running into stability problems with the lifts.
You may also want to look into your states lift laws to make sure how high you can lift it before being illegal.
There are many threads in this forum about lifts and if you look around you can find a lot of information. I actually just bumped one that was a couple months old where a bunch of us were posting pics of our lifted trucks. Check it out to get some ideas, (Warning! if you have dialup the pages will take forever to load)
Ahhies thanks for the link. I will sure to check it out.
I like your truck ... I looked though your pictures ... I think I want to get hood just exactly like your's and possible exactly like lift because it doesnt seem too much and just perfect.
I didn't realize you were doing this to a V-8. I'm gonna warn you even after regearing you probably won't be able to pull with it very well. The V-8 is a little undersized in these trucks to begin with, and with that big of tires it's really going to be pushing it. Most guys with lifts that big have the v-10 or Powerstroke.
The hood is made by Suncoast Creations, and I bought an Airraid intake that matches up to it and makes it a funcitonal ram system. However, I don't think thier is an intake for the V-8 engines to accomplish that. I got everything from Jegs, but be ready for sticker shock cause it costed about $1000 plus another $600 for paint and install.
