not sure how many km's are on the engine...should be finding out soon though
no sure what the zf-5 is from, i e-mailed that seller.
yes the np435 is divorse mount x-case.
im not worried about direct bolt ins as i can make my own engine, tranny, and x-case mounting brackets.
i want to beable to retain my divorse mount np205 for driveline angles.
The ZF-5 4X4 Trans has no tail shaft and the 1345 or 1356 bolts on direct and becomes the tail shaft. However the 4x2 ZF-5 has a tail shaft and you could run your divorced t-case.
sca's are very important in a diesel due to a condition called cavitation erotion. its a condition where microscopic bubbles form and pop, removing very tiny bits of metal from the liners, eventually wearing into the cylinder wall. sca's prevent this from happining.
I haven't noticed any valve train noise or any
other noises. (I just did the heads and top end of my 7.3)
The truck appears to be relatively well maintained. If I was going to put
the motor in another truck I'd change the water pump while I could get at it
easily.
The $1500 includes the motor and the wiring. The only problem is, the
previous owner took out the glow plug control and put in a relay. I have
another glow plug control though that can go with the motor.
he also said the x-case is a BW1356. but the tranny and x-case are not included in the price. i dont really need them anyways...lol
he also said he wasnt sure if the previos owner ran any kind of SCA
That's a lot of money for a used IDI engine that you basically know nothing about. You can get a whole 4X4 truck with everything complete and running for that much. For that matter if you wait and watch you should be able to find a truck for $500-$1,000, complete and running. Maybe not 4 wheel drive, though. I see them selling cheap everywhere now, ebay, street corners, craig's list, local paper, etc. These engines are for sale everywhere for $300-$400. If I were going to be paying $1,500 for an engine it would still be in the wrecked(totalled) truck and the guy would have a receipt in his hand that proved(with matching numbers) that the engine had less than 20,000 miles on it.
