Connectors under steering column

I was under the dash this weekend and noticed there are a couple connectors under the steering column that are not connected to anything. One is even hard mounted to the bottom of the trim panel facing out toward the driver. Anyone know what they are there for?

The connector that is facing out towards the driver is for the techs to plug in diagnostic equipment. This is also where you would plug in an aftermarket power programer. As for any others they may be for uninstalled optional items. If you have a factory trailer tow package there will be a female plug end where an aftermarket electric trailer brake controler would plug in.
