Motorcraft oil filter

I have what appears to be a bad oil sending unit. After a cold start, the oil guage fluctuates between L and normal and the light comes and goes with it. This happens until the truck gets warmed up. Will replacing my Fram oil filter with a motorcraft filter remedy this?

I'd doubt it. Once the oil pressure comes up, it should stay there. Sounds like a bad sending unit.

Bad sending unit for sure, there cheap get it from ford, mine did that exact same thing, I changed it my self they make a special split socket, I think autozone rents or loans them, I made my own with a die grinder, and I use motor craft oil filters just outa habit..

a lot of people dont like fram filters. i dont know why ive used them on every ford ive owned in the last 8 yrs and never had a problem but yeah it sounds like your oil sending unit
