Dp-tunes
I have the dp-tunes setup as no start, stock, 60 tow, 80 econo, 120 race. I installed the bts valve body that jody reccommended and all the other upgrades needed. My question is this.. I thought there would be more smoke when i was on the 80 or 120 setting. I dont get hardly any smoke compared to what other guys here are talking about. Also if I run the stock tune the shifting is hard, will that hurt anything in the tranny since it is set up with the BTS for the 80 econo. There is a big difference in the shifting from the stock tune to the 60, 80, 120 tunes. the programmed tunes shif very smooth. One more question, I have to take the truck in to get looked at for another problem and was wondering if they hook up the code reader, as long as it is on the stock tune will it read the same as if there was not tuner installed at all? thanks jeff

I don't know why you're not getting a lot of smoke...perhaps you have a good turbo that clears it up. I typically just have a haze on the 100 and 120 settings, with the 80 setting hardly smoking at all.
The harder shifting in stock mode won't hurt anything.
With the tuner on stock setting, yes it will read codes just like normal.

so if I sent my dp tuner back and got the 140 extreme tune added it would gush out smoke right? Would that really be pushing the limits of the truck ? I dont want to prematurely ruin anything either I was just hoping I could get a smoker tune to ward off the bugs once in a while when they get to close (lol) jeff

Jeff, with your stock system you wont be Gashing out smoke for sure, it will be moderate amounts, nice to give somone bihind you a good caugh from Sud LOL
im doing stage3 injectors H2E turbo and regulated return, that should produce Huge amounts of smoke in low end and nice HP

thanks, thats what i was wondering about. I really dont want to go too deep on mods just to spit out wasted fuel for some smoke. I can live with what i got (for now). thanks for the input jeff
