I stopped by the local stealership the last weekend and gave the new 08' a good tire kicken and after playing with the new bed extender I was wondering If I can buy one for my 03'?? Would it fit properly and work as it's designed? From looking at it, it didn't look like it would be any problem to add. Anybody have any Idea what kinda price a guy would be looking at??
Socal, what kinda price did they tell you?? I see it's an order option for $250 so I imagine it'll cost like $400 to buy after the fact. I called the local dealer yesterday and the parts dept. acted like I was on drugs! Heck all I said was I want to order one for an 08' SuperDuty, I didn't even tell them it was for my 03'! I had to literally explain what it was and that their truck on the lot has one installed before he had the slightest clue what I was talking about! I still want one but I see it may be a while before I can track one down.
some people at dealerships really got their heads up their *****. i had to explain to my service manager about that new flash that is out for the injectors. he didn't know anything about it. only the buzz flash.
I don't think it will be 100% plug & play. As opposed to the other one piece bed extenders, this one requires a metal rod to slide down into a hole in the tailgate. This provides support that the two-piece extender needs to keep it from possibly separating in the event of shifting cargo.
