I have a 96 Bronco with a small leak problem in my rear area around my tailgate. When it rains, water will come in at the bottom corners of my tailgate where the rubber seal does not touch completely. The leak does not appear to be coming from a higher place, but water cannot run up and through the holes (can it?). I checked the liner between the glass area and the inner area in the tailgate and that is fine. I've got no clue. Any suggestions?
...look at the larger rubber seal on sides where the glass slides up; our 96's gasket was split and the glass rode up the "outside" of the seal..it appears to be a 2 piece seal that is glued together in the mfg. process to form the round shape.
...use baby powder around that lower seal area you described and hose the tg...then look for the water path..it could travel up due to our bronco's brick wall aero shape...exhaust fumes can travel up and through the rear window when it's down, right?...
I forget the last thAng I wanted to mention..bbl if i can remember it
All the weather strips seem to check out okay. I haven't tried the baby powder experiment yet, however. I can't figure it out. It is not a horrible leak, but annoying all the same.
