Getting hitched-some questions

I am getting a hitch for my 2004 E350 15 pass. soon-can someone tell me which hitch will allow me to keep the spare(245/75/16)under the van? I was looking at the Quality S #007, but I'm not sure if that will work with the 16" tire underneath. The guy at the company assured me it would, but then I read somewhere that they don't. Anyone have a recommendation? Class 3 or better preferably. Also, my van has the second battery set-up for the tow trailer electrics. Is there a wiring harness under the rear that is set up for this already, or do I need to run straight to the second battery?

The dealer has a class 3 and 4 hitch that fits perfectly. no holes to drill, which means your local wrecking yard should have what you need if there are any wrecked fords in there. also the wire harness is tucked up near the spare tire and tie wrapped for you to splice in. Fortunately mine came with the tow pkg. so my wire was already set up to a round covered plug on my bumper. Odd that your van has the second batt. like the tow pkg. but no hitch receiver?

Yes, I believe all the 15 pass vans have the second battery, whether they have the tow package or not.

Not sure if you know this, but the Diesels have two extra batteries, harnesses, battery trays !! I know your in to modifications, just thought I would let you know whats available battery wise in case you decide to upgrade. I plan on swapping out my single aux. battery tray for the double myself.

anyways, good luck on your receiver hitch quest.

Geez, I could run my entire tool arsenal out of my van!

On a side note, remember those 2 X 5 inch driving lights I installed in my plastic bumper cover cutouts? Now I remember, I got them at Wal-Mart, $21. I was there today and saw them. Someone else asked me the other day if they were OEM lights, since they looked like they came with the van stock. It's nice when your upgrades look like they belong.

I get the same comment about my fog lamps. Although I mounted mine in the
actual bumper slot just above where you mounted yours. Looks like they belong! when you get a chance take a look at my new gallery pics. I got some in there of the aux. fuse block I ran from the aux. 2nd battery. best thing I ever done. I can't wait to upgrade to the 2 spare batteries!
