Just Had My Custom Y-pipe Installed Today, Waiting To See If I Can Save A Few Mpg With My Currents Mods. I Am Running A 6.8 V10 With A Gibson Cat-back Exhaust And K&n Fipk. I Have Noticed More Power Thru The Rpm Range. Stock Is 310hp And 425lb, Anyone Care To Take A Guess At What Power I May Now Have?
Tomorrow I Am Having A Pioneer Avic Z-1 Nav System With Bluetooth And Sat Radio Installed, All Funded By Tax Refund!!!
If you add a tuner you can a whole lot more than 25 more hp. Take a look at some of the new tuners out in the market. I gained almost 85hp with my tuner. Super C_I_ claims more but when it tested it did not show that. Plenty for me though. I wish I could get a refund check one of these years. But being a business owner I can write off a lot of other things.
But as restrictive as that stock y-pipe is, and having a good flowing catback, id imagine closer to 20-25hp gains are possible. Those pipes are downright rediculous considering that 5 descent sized cylinders are breathing through each of those tiny pipes. Should really wake it up at mid/high rpm. The cold air will only help more at that point. Fords do LOVE a good tune though. Much more responsive then GMs to tuning at this level.
