I found a 1975 F250 4x4 on craig list. I want it for the power steering along with all the other goodies. I also has auto trans but not sure if it is good to use for plowing or not. Do you guys know if the transfer case is the same? Mine is a divorced unit ( I hear it the desirable one). I haven’t seen the truck yet, but I may just use it for my plow truck, or rob parts off it to keep my 73 going.
Like I said, I need the power steering- axel, cross member, pump, etc.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
If this truck will fit my needs, I’ll offer him some money sight unseen.
75 f250 with auto tranny is usually a divorced fulltime 205 transfer case, manual trannies came with divorced 203 part time case. There was two types of power steering used on 73-74 f250 one was garrison the other was bendix the 75 should be bendix but the whole unit should be interchageable. auto trannies work great for plowing as long as you keep it cool I have a tranny cooler on mine.Small items are different from 73 to 75 the 75 will have electronic ignition, the taillights sockets and parking light sockets are different.

How do I tell what it is and what I have? What do to disingage the full time t-case? Just undo the front hubs?
Thanks,
P/T
The two trucks are quite simular. That one with the auto and power steering would be an excellent parts truck in your case.
My original thought was to use it as a parts tuck, but if its better than what I have now, I may just make it my plow truck. He said it started back-firing through the carb before he parked it. I’m guessing the timing chain may have jumped.
Between the two engines I probably can get one to work.
IIRC it had the same engine as mine. I’ll find out more today.
The main thing was to get this truck for the power steering – and a cross member that is required for a power steering unit. I hope it’s the same.
