The new towing specs that have upped the f-150 to 11,000lbs in towing. Has anything changed from 04-07? As far as I know all the trucks have the exact same driveline and power as in 04 but in 04 it was what 9900lbs "properly equip". So Ford has been sandbagging for the last 3yrs. What does everyone else think?
they all do it man. its got a 5.4L it would tow 11,000 whats the 2004 FX4 Crew Cab rated at cause I knwo of one that pulls 10,500, there a 2005 F-150 ex cab not sure the box size, but its not a long box. on my job site he pulls a enclosed trailer, could fit a car in it and its loaded to the max truck sits bit low but its a 4x4 so it is not botted out, still about 5" or clearence. and it tows it extremly well.
Didn't say they wouldn't do it, just that they are not rated for it. As we all know, there is a very big difference between what the factory says you can do and what you actually are able to do. But the heavy payload package comes with some stuff to handle the extra weight like a heavier (10.25) rear end with 4.10 gears, heavier frame, and of course heavier springs.
