12" sub in a´89 reg cab. Is it possible?
Hi guys.
I have a 12" JL Audio subwoofer and I would like to get it into my ´89 F150 reg. cab.
Mounting depth is 6" so is it even possible to get in there? If anyone of you have 12" sub,how big box do you guys have? Any dimensions would be great.
Or do I have to buy a another sub with less mounting depth?

Hi guys.
I took it off from its old enclosure which I had in my car and tried to fit it back there, and I have to say that it wont fit.
I dont want that my seat is too much at front,i want it almost all the way back.
Quess I´ll have to find 10" sub with less mounting depth.
Well,now i have 12" for my ´64 Galaxie!

Check out supercrewsound for boxes that fit our trucks. He just posted on this forum with a new box.I bought a box from them about two years ago and it has held up fine. They even offer Image Dynamics subs to go with your box.<<<Great subs BTW.I think forum members recieve a 10 percent discount if you enter FTE on your order form

they have the airspace needed for the sub versus getting a 10" or 12" and a shallow box. i have a friend with shallow boxed 10s under his back seat and the sound isn't that great. i am not saying i have the best system in the world but it works and i am happy with it. if you use any of the info i gave, great. that is what my goal was.

well it all depends on what type of subs you have. i built my box, a single airspace box for 2 JL W1 10's, gave them each 1.3 cubic feet (2.6 cubic feet of airspace total), and they sound amazing. oh, and my seat is scooted all the way back. its ok to have a shallow box, as long as the airspace is there somewhere.
