I have a 1987 F150 that I did a 351 swap into. Its from a 1994 Bronco, and the ECM for it is from a 1989 F250(finding parts are fun). There is a bit of an idle problem, but I'm not sure what it could be.
At first start up, it shoots up to 1400, then comes down gradually to 1000, when I start driving, its fine until I have to put in the clutch....
Then, it does one of two things, it either,
Revs up to 2000
OR
Idles down to 1200 for the shift
Both seem to be at random for which one it does, doesnt matter if the engine is hot or cold.
Another thing is that when it does eventually idle down, it hits 700 and stays there for a few seconds, then the idle dies down to about 550 or so and starts getting really lopey.
I thought IAC valve, but it's not throwing any codes, in fact, nothing is, does that matter? Thanks in advance for any ideas
