Tail light problems

I have a 1975 crew cab and the tail lights/park lights aren't working. Brakes and rear signals work. Are the tail lights/park lights on a seperate fuse? I have been reading other posts and have been getting conflicting info.

I also and having trouble with one front signal light. If it is a bad ground to the socket should a test light show current going into the socket? It is probably a stupid question but I don't know the answer.

The taillights/parklights are on a seperate fuse that feeds all the marker lights front and rear. And they are all fed by a brown wire. If your front markers are working, then your fuse is good, and I would suspect you have a wiring problem along the driver's side frame rail or in the rear bumper area were there is usually a factory plug, and a big mess were someone had a trailer tow harness wired in.

Also it is possible that the wire on the back side of the fuse block has broken off. Secondly I have seen the wires that are part of the loom crack on break right under the cab at the plug in.

There is a good tech article you should read in the tech section. Check the menu bar at the top of the forum.

It all depends on what is working, and what is not, and where the splice is were the brown splits to the front and the rear.

Turns out the guy I bought it from has the tail/park lights on a toggle switch. It would have saved me a lot of time if he had mentioned it.
