I have an '05 with major steering problems. When I first got it (used) it had sat on the lot for months and had a vibration in the steering. The dealer said there were no problems, just that the tires got out of round and said "give it two weeks to go away". Well, it got much better, so I ignored it.
Now, 4k later, it is very bad. The brakes vibrate the entire car, the wheel shakes while moving, and turning makes it actually fell like it is disconnecting from stuff. It actually will turn itself if I don't hold it on offramps. What is the problem? It only has 42k on it and has a warrenty, so cost is no object. What should I have the dealer focus on?
Today it seems better, but still noticeable. I'll add this- the entire suspension squeaks over bumps, and it becomes worse as I turn sharper. Also, the right tire has much less tread than the other three- it is even all across the tire, but defintely less.
I don't think it's a stuck caliper as I've put 4000 miles on it since buying it and haven't noticed anything- it does not pull and there are no other telltale signs of a stuck caliper.
