hub vacuum lines

I just replaced my ball joints. When I put everything back together, one of the vacuum lines would not go back into the knuckle/hub. It is a fine thread and looks like it could possibly be stripped, but I'm not 100% sure. I didn't want to try to force it too hard and mess up the threads even more. Does anyone know what the thead size is? Is it possibly NPT and I just didn't get enough force to get it in there? The passenger side when back on easy. What problems will leaving it off for a day or two create, other than a little dust in the hub? Any suggestions to get it back on? Thanks

The wheel bearings are a sealed unit. The inner seal is attached to the axle and will need to be replaced when removed. If you've not done this before you better do some research.

It wasn't too hard to replace joints. The axle seal took a little care to get on straight. I think I got it on without any damage.

I used a 10" long piece of 1-1/4 inch pipe with floor flange & cap on the ends. Slide on the seal, slide pipe & flange over axle, and carefully hammer the pipe until the seal seats.
