cheby tranny

Got a 81 k10 to beat on. Was toying around, and had to back out of a lilttle ditch. put it into reverse and it went, and then started slipping, and then bam., back into gear. Gotout of the ditch and moving foward again, drove good and then started doing the same thing in drive gears. Now, after parking it for a few days it wont move at all. Pulled the cooler lines to see what kindafluid came out and nothing is coming out.
Any ideas onthis one?

I just got a 2001 Blazer that is beat to heck. Tranny was doing much what you talk about. I had to get it re-built. Now the transfer, and front differential need work. I didn't really want this vehicle but got stuck with it. It's costing time and money. I call it my project car! Or the spending of my retirment car!

sounds like a simple case of being low on fluid. Does the tranny leak at all? Could be that the angle you were at caused the fluid to move away from the pickup and you ran it dry for a second. I would say do a tranny service and see what happens from there. While you're in there changing the filter make sure to look for shards of metal. That will be your first sign is something major is going on.

Could be low on fluid or since there's nothing coming out of the lines I'd say the pump went bad.
