V10 Fuel Filter

Could someone please give me instructions on changing my fuel filter?? I cleaned the MAF and it helped the skip. It is still skipping occasionally. Sometimes pretty bad. Sometimes not at all. I'm gonna change the fuel filter and see how it goes from there.

Thanks

You might want to search the V10 section or move your thread there. You will get more responses.

I just bought a new filter and the tool to remove it, so I'm interested in how to do it as well

It is very easy. The fuel filter is adjacent to and running along the driver side inner part of the frame. You just take the tool and close it around the hose and you slide it into the fuel filter. That nip will go into the recess of the filter and unlock it. You just pull the hose right out. Putting it back you just insert the hose and it snaps into place. Beware of spilling fuel when you pull the hose out, obviously or you'll get a face full of fuel.

Does the tank have to be empty or is there any way to clamp the hose off? Are we talking about a constant flow and gas spraying all over the place?

Not much gas will come out. Maybe a cup or so. Really whatever is in the filter. I would open up the gas cap to release some of the pressure.

Not a big deal. Have a rag around the filter and you should be all set.
