need shocks immediatly on the 1990 F250 extended cab 7.5L 2 wheel drive truck i just got. i would like to keep a nice comfy highway ride while able to tow a trailer and haul heavy loads.
here are some of the ones i have looked at so far:
the front is the biggest priority right now, the rear will come later.
KYB MonoMax (max of my price range)
Blistein Heavy Duty Series (slightly too expensive)
Rancho RS5000
i like the styles that can take or include a rubber boot to protect the shaft and seals, and poly bushings are a big plus. we usually have beat up trucks and use cheap shocks, but this truck is nice and deserves something nice!
Best bang for your buck out of those 3 are the ranchos. They might seem a little more stiff than stock, but they definetly can take the abuse and on the larger stuff they eat it up pretty good. Bilstein shocks might be more money, but they are also a very good shock that will last you a while too, and I have never even heard of your first choice.
I like the Monroe Gas-Matic. Thats what I run.
