It may have just have picked up stuff from not having oil in it. I would drive it, get it fully warmed up and then check it. Don't panic just yet.

ahhh, hold on, be very careful! It is probably coolant getting in there. If you start it and warm it up, which i would probably not do, pay very close attention to it. You could run the risk of destroying your engine. Right now, you can save it by not starting it, taking a step back, closely examining what is going on, and doing some research by making phone calls to the dealership and/or your local mechanic. This is just my opinion though, i tend to get paranoid with this stuff. Do you have the 4.2L V6? Apparently, those have bad intake manifold gaskets that let coolant into your engine (not good). I am in the same boat. Currently, I am going to park mine (97 f150 4.2L) and replace the gasket myself. Even though my oil looks fine and everything seems ok, I am still going to replace it to be on the safe side. Again though, I may be wrong with your situation, but from what you said, it sounds like a possible major problem so use caution and if in doubt, just dont. Good luck.
