Hey Folks

I am new to the world of Blue Ovals. Been a Chevrolet owner since I was 16. Just traded my 95 K2500 for an 04 F250 4*4. The difference is dramatic. The 6.0 liter has alot more power than that old 5.7. The ride is better, although that maybe attributed to the Chevy being 12 years old. The ford is and XL package, comparable to the Cheyenne I was used to. AC and Cruise are the add ons to the truck.First tank of diesel averged me 17.33 mpg. I drive slow, my girlfriend fusses about it.It does drip a little coolant on the passenger side .Drips down around the area where engine meets tranny. Dealer said that was normal? As a big rig driver I know I am supposed to idle a few minutes to cool down after running the highway. Same true for the 6.0? Thanks guys and ladies. Matt

First off, welcome. Second, if it is actual coolant that is leaking, it is not normal. If it is condensation from the AC, that is normal. Coolant leaking from there should be checked out. And third, enjoy!

I would only suggest the cool down period if you ran with a heavy trailer load, shouldnt be needed unless you are loading the thing up. I believe you would do well with a gauge kit to watch the trans temp to really let you know if you have to cool down or not.
