I have an 02 f150 supercrew with the 5.4L and 4R100. It has a small tranny cooler mounted in front of the radiator on the passenger side and power steering cooler on the driver side. Does anyone know if this truck has the factory tow package tranny cooler based on this info? I bought it used with a 4 pin wire connecter and 2" receiver. There is no fan on the cooler.
Wow, you got a rare one if it has the 4R100 in it. I've personally never seen one unless it had the 7700 payload package.
Mine has all of the above, but it also has the 7 pin plug on the truck. Mine does have to tow package.
I think the tow package also had a 650cca factory battery as well.
Does the truck have the trailer brake and trailer light relays in the power distribution box under the hood near the master cvlinder? If so, it probably does. It should also have at least 3.55 gears in it.
Maybe I misread the specs and assumed the 4r100 was for the 4x4 with the 5.4L. Anyway, does you tranny cooler have a fan? I'll check the battery and the wiring location as a 7 pin plug with brake control was added by the 1st owner.
No fan on the cooler, it just gets air from driving and what passes by as the radiator fan draws in air. I have towed over 7000# with no tranny problems in 98 degree weather. I do recommend having the tranny fluid flushed about every 50,000 miles. It will last much longer this way.
Most newer fords I've noticed do not come with amarked reciever...as for the harness?M dog could wire that up......It might be possible to take it to a dealer and have them run the VIN to tell you what options it came with.....
