Question Weekend trouble?

I drove to Iowa this past weekend and had some truck issues. My ’01 F-150 started out fine, but then about Chicago 3 ½ hours later my truck wasn’t warming up inside. The fan was defiantly running, however nothing was coming out of any of vents. I turned the vent selector to every position and the same thing, nothing coming out. I could feel heat their but no blowing. After the truck sat for about 6 hours it was just like normal, heat blowing out where ever I wanted it. Worked great all weekend, until the ride home. The same thing, it quit after just two hours this time. Anyone have any guesses what might be the problem? Only thing I could come up with is either the flappers in there get stuck in one spot or maybe the shaft is spinning and the fan has sheared the pin that holds it on.

Either there is a vacuum leak (which causes the vents to default to the defrost vents) or possibly the blower wheel is slipping. Usually the blend door is what gives problems, but it controls temp, not the vents.
