Where is the neutral Switch?

I have 77 F150 that I just put back together after fixing some insrument panel issues and redoing some shoddy wiring that I had done 10 yrs ago. When I tried to start the truck, I had nothing. I jumped the starter relay and that worked fine. Then I tested the wire that supplies power to the starter relay both at the back of the ignition switch and at the started relay. When I turn the key to the start position, I have power at the back of the ignition switch (red/blue), but not at the starter relay. When looking at the wiring diagram, the only thing inbetween these 2 spots is the neutral safety switch. Unfortunetly, I don't know where it is located or what it looks like. I had the steering wheel off and was messing with the directional switch just prior to this problem, so I think there is real good chance that the neutral safety switch is the problem. I'm guessing it's located somewhere in the steering colum? Thanks for the help in advance.

Neutral safety is on the trans assuming its a C6. There is a plug near the centre of the firewall. The harness comes from the trans at that point. It will have 4 wires 2 for the start circuit and 2 for the reverse lights. You are sure you are in neutral or part. Hope this helps Don

The NSS wasn't moved to the side of the trans until 1978.

For pre-78 it was on the column as shown in your thread in the 73-79 forum
