M5R2 Bearing question

Hey guys i have a 1988 F150 it has the M5R2 Mazda tranny, the front main shaft bearing is shot how hard is it to replace this bearing? need any special tools? the tranny shifts fine thru all gears, the fluid is pretty clean and full, the problem i'm having is i'm getting a lot of chatter noise with clutch pedal all the way up that goes away with the pedal pushed down to the floor,i replaced the clutch and slave cylinder first and still have the noise, pulled the top cover and noise seems to be coming from around the main shaft bearing, i did notice a little up and down play in the shaft when the tranny was out, just wondering if this is something i should takle on my own or if i should take it in to a tranny shop, anything else i should check while i'm in there?any help would be apreciated

thanks,mixer

I just replaced the clutch on my truck with the same trans. I didn't have any play in the input shaft but I did have a little noise when I put it all back together when the clutch is out. I sprayed some white lithium grease on the throwout bearing even though it says it is pre greased and it went away.
