did anyone have install protection plates under the body/motor/gas tank/T-Case of the F-350?

what mounting holes is it best to use?

If you could order the factory Fx4 skid plates, they should bolt right up in the same spots. Maybe try a junkyard if you don't won't to pay for new ones.

Probably not too many Super Dutys in junk yards in Israel. The factory plates are good though.

FX4 skid plates

Mine IS a FX4.

As for the facroty installed skid plates, they are a Joke for decent offroading...
I am talking about 8mm Aluminum plates that cover the entire belly of the truck.

something like:
http://www.asfir.com/customize/?make...&category=2912

only to be made cheaper by DIY...

Factory Protection is Better than you think

I have run my 1999 F250 Superduty for over 6 years various offroad meccas on trails that jeeps had trouble with. Such as, Telico, Paragon, Rousch Creek, Land Between the Lakes, Rubicon, Skyjacker Ranch and Coal Creek and I have done it with two factory Transfer case skids (Back to Back) and a factory gastank skid. Additionally, I took a factor gastank skidplate and removed the the mounts and built a custom mount for the engine/trans protection. Now I did at one time have a bellypan plate that was braced and made (by Offroad Unlimited) from 7075 10mm aluminum that tore through a number of time on the rocks. The basic properties of aluminum verses steel are obvious, the aluminum is brittle and rigid and the steel is flexible and more forgiving and will deform where the aluminum will just tear. Basically, you need to overcome the weight of your vehicles combined with the leverage generated by the length of you vehicle.

Don't forget about another vulnerable area. The lower front edge of the radiator. The part you can see through the bumper. I almost ran a large stick through mine so I fabbed a plate for it. See my pix in gallery.

Radiator Vulnerabilities

Correct, in fact you must also protect the radiator cradle, your power steering fluid cooler and your radiator hoses. Additionally, you need to provide some form of diff protector and a deflector to minimize hits to your front steering or go to a high steer kit. Solved this issue with a Dynatrac combo kit, Howe Hydro Assist kit/diff protectors and Road armor bumpers.
