Help!

I’m losing differential fluid and I need to get some now but the only place open is Autozone. I’ve lost some fluid and need to put something in there so I can get it to the shop on Thursday. Can I mix differential fluids? Would Autozone have anything that would hold me for two days?

If it is a rear differential, 75/140 Valvoline synthetic. Probably not a good idea to mix brands but should get you by for a few days.

If it is the differential cover leaking, it's an easy job to do yourself.

Leak

The leak is at the axle shaft. It’s getting on my disk brakes and dripping on the wheel rim. Not good for the pocket book.

Where is the leak? At what places could the axle leak? If it's on the inside of the wheel rim would it more than likely be the hub seal?

Its probably an axle seal. You can mix the fluids temporarily but after the leak is fixed, make sure to change you that fluid back out.

I agree with John, axle seal, the seal on the inside of your drum, my truck was leaking at the axle seal when I purchased it, not as bas as yours sounds though. I replaced the seal myself, with the correct tools it's not too bad of a job.
