Welcome to the forum.........Did it shift when you test drove it and then just quit? Does it make any noise when you try?........Does the shifter feel sloppy and loose?.......I've had older trucks that had bent and worn linkage that would bind up and not let me shift.
I'm no tranny guy but this will get you back to the top and if you explain more about it.......someone can help you.....I guarantee it.
Good Luck

alright when i test drove it, it ran cherry never stalled never had any problems shifting at all, and then when i was driving to work all of the sudden it was like 3rd gear didnt exist...... i mean like you go to shift over and it was like no slot had ever been made for, no noises like it was trying or anything just like hitting a wall where 3rd should be.
