Hello all I havent posted in a while due to a couple of things. first I bought a kcar for winter 7 work so my 66 wouldnt have to get the salt treatment, and it keps the miles from pileing up and it lets me have more time to work on my
truck with out worying about getting to work. Ok here the deal. I have a stock 352 with aprox 35k on a complete rebuild, holley 350cmf 2v on a stock 2v intake manifold, nice dual exaust system and pertronics in the recurved distro, Thanks to Bear and others on this forum she runs great, no problems at all now. I run a C6 auto Dana locker 44 with 3.07 gearsand 29 inch tires, avarage speed is 60mph at 2200 rpm and 10mpg. I tow a 18 foot bass boat weight around 3500 pounds and she tows pretty good. 1st question is do these heads have the hardened exaust seats and are they good heads,C8AE 2nd is I know the 352 is a low comp engine, could I get more by milling the heads say 10 thousands and will I have problems with a 4v intake manifold if i do. would like to gain a bit of power on the lower end, I dont race with her just cruse and tow a bit.and if I do the above ,mill the heads and add a 4v intake with carb how much could I expect to "Feel" the differance.Pulling the motor and changing to a 390 is just not practical for me in the forseeabull future.
As always thanks for any info.
IF I remember correctly .005" equals about 1cc.. So about 2cc's I dont know that you would see any difference....But if you do decide to mill the Chamber end of the heads also take the same amount off the Intake SIDE of the head...Never mill the intake to fit... JMO and good luck on your endevor!
