Those sneeky Ford engineers
I have been buying Ford truck s that need some TLC since I'm off for winter. And reselling.
So I have a 95 F150 4x4 E4od that needed trans . I replaced trans and noticed that the cross member was bent.I dont patch things so out to a parts truck (93 4x4 E4od )I go and get a crossmember . New member is all bolted up and was lowering trans. the bolts on mount didn't line up .
Being 11 PM
and sleep deprived I lost my cool
. As you can Guess So the next day I ordered a mount to fit. And now 2 day latter its done. This story just gose to show how something small can throw a wrench in an easy task. I have swapped so many trans ,cases , mount I can't count them . And never noticed difference in mounts .
Course I order parts for the year of truck I'm working on.This ranks right up there with the lets put several different u-joints on the rear drive shaft.

Thanks for reading and boy I feel better.
Lost in 90's
There are just sooo many variations across these trucks...and there are millions of them out there.
I ran into that too, when I took out my M5OD and put in the ZF...everything was the same except the tranny mount on the ZF and M5 were different...the bolts were spaced differently (1/2" difference). But I just swapped the mounts over as they still bolted up right on the tranny side and it then worked on the crossmember side.
