Where's the 5.0 ?

I must have been living under a rock the past few months, last I heard Ford was bringing back the 5.0. Supposed to be available as a crate motor this year and was to go into the next generation F-150. Now all I hear is this talk about a 6.2 liter. Has the 5.0 idea in the trucks been scrapped? Sure wish we could get accurate info on what motor we're getting instead of all these wild rumors flying around. But whatever motor we get better put out at least 350 ponies, these trucks are so heavy they need at least that much!

I wouldn't get my hopes up to much for a 6.2 liter motor with the prices of gas that we will be seeing this summer. I think you may see a few more HP out of the existing motors and more gear options with the 6 speed trans but that's about it. That's what my Ford mechanic friends tell me anyway.

The 5.0 Cammer is availible from FRPP. It is a stroked 4.6L with DOHC and is a healthy little engine. Pricey too!!
