Sorry to hear this.. It sucks to have something like this holding over you and your new truck. The color looks great though.
Mine should be here the week of 3-26-07.
The dealer is installing BFG AT KO 305/65/18's for an extra $600 after I immediately install a 2" A.S. I am getting pretty impatient. Hope nothing is wrong with the truck.
I'm sure you will get it all taken care of and then you can enjoy your new truck. Got any more pics, I want to see more of the color?
I have taken it back to the dealer. They claim Ford won't pay them to install anything other than the "correct", black mirror, so I told them to not waste their time ordering anything as I wasn't interested. Some day, I'll order the matching power folder w/ puddle lamp and a chrome skull cap (not from them by any means) and install them myself. Some other day beyond that, I may try to figure out how to get the power folding to actually work.
When both doors had scratches/dings, the odometer had 127 unexplained miles, and the damn lot rats tried to steal my carpeted floor mats, I was just a tad distracted to notice the mirror mismatch. I walked around it several times looking for paint defects and what not, but never went and stood at the front of it and compared sides. Some people pick up on it right away, others don't until I tell them to look at each mirror back and forth a time or two.
By the way, sorting through the chaff the dealer stuffed into the glove box, I finally found a little note from Ford that says the truck had been randomly selected for road testing after assembly, so they added 119 miles during that test. Dealership had no idea where the miles had come from.
I'll get some more pictures taken once I get the XLT chrome package grille installed.
It seems those assembly line folks are trying to work themselves out of a job or something after hearing all these other assembly botches.

the original mirror probably fell off during the road test and they replaced it with whatever they found first
I almost bought a Chevy Suburban for the wife until I walked around it. One side said 1500 (1/2 ton) the other 2500 (3/4). Was worried the truck had two different set of springs, brakes, etc. I passed.
A while after the Jeep Liberty's came out, I was in Missoula, MT and saw one that said Liberty on one side and Grand Cherokee on the other. How many ding dongs looked at that and didn't notice? Too funny.
Sorry to hear and see your situation, I'd definately make Ford & the Dealer pay.
Similar situation happend to my father's '04 Explorer Limited, which he didn't even notice until I told him.
The driver doors (front & back) and dash board had the fake wood grain trim, while the passenger doors (front & back) had a silver metallic/carbon fiber trim. He took it back, they said his model was supposed to have the silver metallic/carbon fiber trim, but since it needed less fake wood trim, they just replaced the passenger doors trim to the fake wood.
Father was fine with this, but just goes to show what these assembly lines will do.
Thanks guys, now I'm gonna be walking around my truck for days looking for stuff wrong.
