Weird fan noise
OK, been trying to figure out what the hell I was hearing from the engine, and now I've figured it out - but don't understand it. It is a grinding noise coming from the fan, but it only does it when I turn left and either going up or down an inline/decline. I tried to get it to do it when on level ground - no go. I'm stumped!! ANyone else have this problem, or know what could possibly cause this??

My fan shroud was the problem for me when I heard that same noise. Check any and everything around that fan area. Don't forget that the engine twist when getting into the gas. Shake and pull everything remotely close to that fan and you WILL find the prob.

Weird fan noise
I had the same problem with my Bronco. It turned out to be my motor mounts. The two on each side of the engine had been bad and it caused the engine to fall therefor the fan falls. It may only make the noise sometimes because the fan does have some extra room around the shroud.
