DJdemon66, I just saw the license plate on you truck and realized where youre at. I used to live in Aruba about 10 years ago. I bet its changed alot! That had to be a hell of a ride to do that to that truck. (too much Balashi???) Sorry but I dont think I can help with your problem though. I think youre gunna have to take it apart to find out though.
aruba, not sure about lift height. it a personal preference i guess what size tires are you going to run? Stock rims can only take so much abuse. We had 35X12.50X15 on stock wagon wheels on a bronco for a while. then going down the highway we felt a vibration. the the rim tire came off and passed us as we veered off the road. it actuall ripped off the axle.
That picture looks exactly like my exursions front leaf springs and i thought the same thing-since when do leaf sp[rings go like that? I think the leafs may need to be replaced, but i kinda want to find out for myself.
HAHA aruba its in the caribean peeps... a paradise, matt u used to live here? 10 years ago ? yeahh it changed allot!the gass prices is about a dollar for 1 liter now.. and haha balashi ? (arubian beer ) haha ...... are u coming back to visit? do some offroading? by the lighthouse go all the way to sanicolas ? ..
and ok "wrenchturner" thanks allot for your help.. im going with 4" lift and new tires and rimz... tnx for the warning
the part of the spring that looks bad to me is at the wrap towards the rear. All the stock 3/4 tons i've seen are reversed arched.
Measure from the u bolt to the shackle blot on both sides. they should be close to the same if not dead on.I bet the locating pin sheered and maybe the eye at the rear is messed up. Is the pass spring's eye opened up like that?
