I've been lurking around here for a few weeks, gleening info as I was making my decision about buying a Super Duty to replace my '02 F150. Last Sunday I became the proud owner of an '07 F350 XLT CC SB, 6.0 PSD, Dark Shadow Grey, Sport package, leather, FX4, and Tow Command. This is my 4th F-Series, 1st Super Duty.
I'll be using the truck as a daily driver, but the reason for the truck is to pull our Toy Hauler up to Hungry Valley, Pismo, etc. for camping and riding quads. The F150 was just maxed out on it's towing capacity and it's no fun going up the Grapevine gettng passed by loaded semis.
I live in SoCal, and my favorite toy is my '07 HD Roadglide, hence the screen name. I'll be 50 this fall, I'm married, kids are gone (YES!!!!), and the SO and I really have simple tastes that we're finally able to endulge in. Most of those revolve around just having a good time.
I work at a precision sheetmetal fabricating job shop. I do all the CAD/CAM and CNC stuff to get a customers sheetmetal parts out to the laser or turret punch press to start the fabrication process.
Anyways, thanks to many for the info I used to make this purchase, plus the info I'll use for upgrades (lift kit, wheels, tires.....).
Welcome. I'm also new to the site and have also recently purchased a 2004, f350, crew cab, turbo diesel,l.b, auto, and loaded with extras. This week I just had a color-matched toneau installed. I tow an 18 ft., 12,000 lb. trailer loaded with a rollformer to job sites and sometimes towing through the rockies and there are times when I forget I'm pulling anything. This is my first super duty as well and there is nothing finer than hearing that engine roar up the hill. You're going to love it!
